Overview:

Ryan Kerrigan was one of the most productive defenders in college football this past season. He’s smart, plays the run well, and has one of the best motors I’ve ever seen. However, his potential is limited at the next level. He doesn’t posses the great athleticism needed to play RDE in the NFL and he’s to stiff to play in the 3-4. He’ll be a solid LDE for a team, but he will never put up 10+ sacks and be relied upon as a primary pass-rusher.

Scouting Report:

– Smart player and knows his assignment
– Incredible motor and chases plays down from the backside

Negatives

– Could add some bulk
– Burst is decent, but won’t strike fear into NFL lineman

– Struggles to change directions quickly
– Has difficulty tackling quicker backs in space
– Would be a liability in coverage in a 3-4 defense
– Needs to develop more pass-rush moves
